There is much debate in regards to whether or not organic food is healthier for one to consume than conventional food. While some may believe that the health benefits of both growth methods are equal, more studies have proven that organic food trumps conventionally grown (and raised) foods.
First and foremost, if you purchase and consume organically grown foods, you will reduce ingestion of toxins. Studies such as one that can be found in the journal ofPediatrics have linked exposure to pesticides to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in children. Along the same lines, other studies have expunged that when pregnant mothers consume pesticides, their unborn baby’s IQ decreases significantly.
Pesticides affect adults as well with symptoms from overexposure including headaches, tremors, lack of energy, depression, anxiety, poor memory, nausea, indigestion and dermatitis. In severe cases, cancer can even result from ingesting too many pesticides.
By purchasing and consuming organic products you will not only most likely avoid the above symptoms but you will also obtain high nutrient levels from your food, reverse many health abnormalities that you may be experiencing, reduce the likelihood of ingesting other food additives (other than pesticides), such as MSG, artificial sweeteners, food colorings and flavorings and hydrogenated oils and will increase your overall wellbeing.
Organic food may come with a higher price tag than conventional foods initially, but in the long run, it’s actually the cheaper approach. By purchasing organic foods, in the years to come you will not be spending copious amounts of money on hospital bills resulting from consuming too many conventional chemicals. Clearly organic food is the best approach to achieve superior health.
